- Designate a corridor for long-range planning
- Identify a Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) – a route and
service that will serve the needs of the community, will be eligible
for federal funding, and serve as a foundation for long-range
transportation and land use planning in the area.
- Provide better transit connections to:
- Morgan State
- Johns Hopkins Medical Campus
- Downtown Baltimore
- Greater Baltimore Region
- Other activity centers both in the community and throughout the
region-places we hope the community will help us identify as part of
this study.
- Support community enhancement and investments by serving existing and future resources. Community resources should think about:
- How transit can reduce traffic and parking demand.
- Where stops can be placed to maximize security for passengers and integrate seamlessly into its public spaces.
- Revitalize community
- Encourage pedestrian-friendly environment
- Reduce impacts to neighborhood
- Foster economic growth
- Enhance environmental quality – We will also be seeking ways to
enhance the environmental quality of the study area by preserving
historic, cultural, and natural resources while improving the quality
of life in NE Baltimore.
